His freelance photography journey has several group and solo exhibitions. His recent journeys include commission by UNFPA for their brochure (2005), invitation by the French association "l'Association Beaumarchais" for their annual program to exhibit his works on "the Walking" (June 2006, Theatre du Rond Point, Paris) and to present a slide show on "Democracy on the way in Nepal" about current political events that took place on April 2006 in Nepal. The Exhibition: Daily life is something that has always fascinated me as a photographer. Life in Nepal is not limited inside the buildings, but is out on the streets. There is very limited border between personal life and social life of an individual in Nepalese society. If one wants to understand Nepalese way of living, one has to see and observe every day life of people out side on the streets. It is sometimes very tragic but sometimes is very funny as well. A picture should make one feel the emotion and tell a story. It's easy to say that an image tells a story of thousand words but in a good picture these words should be conveyed to the people. I hope that some of these photographs have captured the essence of daily life of Nepalese people. -Ashok R. Shakya Additional Information:
