I have sensitivity to hot or cold food

Your tooth has basically three layers – enamel, dentine and pulp. Enamel is the hard part which protects the tooth. Enamel does not have any sensation. That is the reason we do not feel pain while chewing or eating. Sensitivity of tooth can be due to many reasons such as tooth decay, gum recession, crack on your tooth, loss of enamel due to hard brushing etc.Treatment can only be suggested after examination and identifying the cause of sensitivity. For example if your sensitivity is due to decay, we may advise you a filling.
